Vote for Cynthia!
September 30th, 2008 8:26 AM

This is Lisa, again, Cynthia's assistant.  I nominated Cynthia for KJ103 FM's "OKC's Hottest Realtor".  I think she is the bomb when it comes to Real Estate and a whole lot of everything else.

If you want to vote for Cynthia go here.  Help me recognize Cynthia in this fun way!  :)

ReMax Hot Air Balloon Ride!
September 24th, 2008 10:27 PM

This is Lisa, Cynthia's assistant.  I had an opportunity last week to ride in the
ReMax hot air balloon.  The balloon team was here for another ride and asked for 2 volunteers to go up in the balloon after they had met their first obligation.  Naturally, I jumped at the chance.  The weather this September  has been perfect and Friday evening was a magical night for me.

It was PERFECT! AWESOME! STUNNING! FABULOUS!

I could die happy right now. The weather was perfect and actually has been perfect all week. It was fun and fascinating helping get the balloon up.

Firing the balloon up for liftoff.

We were up so high, the house looked like little monopoly houses. A plane buzzed right over us.

See the balloon's shadow over Lake Hefner Parkway?

We came down a bit lower and we could pick put landmarks. We waved at an outdoor wedding reception and at people out and about.

\

Then we sailed over the lake. It was incredible. There were several sailboats on the lake. We could see the perfectly symmetrical ripples.

Even the sewage treatment plant is kind of pretty from this vantage point.

And then we sailed over Martin Nature Park on our way to land. We could see the deer playing in and out of the heavy brush and trees. As we were descending over the nature preserve we hit the tops of the trees and bump, bump, bumped.

Those little dots in the picture are deer playing.

Then we just dropped to the ground, took a hop and another hop and that was it. We landed on a large empty lot behind an apartment complex. People getting in and out of their cars were watching. Two little girls came running over from a nearby neighborhood and the balloon pilot let them get in for a picture.

It was a beautiful evening and I was on a natural high for a long time afterwards.

Time for Fall Garden tips
September 19th, 2008 9:10 AM

For all you lawn & garden enthusiasts, I've once again asked Richard LeBlanc to share some gardening tips for this season.  Get out there and get 'er done this weekend.  Happy Gardening!

Fall is here!  Time to plant your spring bulbs, they need plenty of chilling time for early blooms.  Roses can be cut back and liberally mulched for winter protection.  This is also a good time to divide many of your perennials, some however, require dividing in the spring.  Separate enough to be sure each section has at least one bud and some roots, then plant immediately.  Prune any dead or diseased branches from trees and shrubs. The areas to be pruned are easily visible while foliage is still on the living, healthy parts.   Clean up debris in the lawn and garden. Leaves, sticks, rocks and other late season leftovers can harm next year's lawn and harbor pests and diseases over the winter. Bring in your houseplants that have summered outdoors. When nighttime low temperatures get to around 50° is time to start moving them back inside. When indoor plants have been outdoors for the summer, roots may grow through the bottom of the pot. If the pots are sitting on the ground, give the pots a twist to loosen. Check them carefully before bringing back inside. Pests may have set up summer homes in your plants. A good gentle spraying with the garden hose will help dislodge and clean the plant before you return it to its indoor home. Drain the water from garden hoses at the end of the season. Coil them and store them in a spot where they won't freeze.  Take advantage of the weather now, to repair, renovate, rebuild and/or repaint your outside deck, porch, lawn chairs & tables.  Also check your landscape timbers or retainers for rotting or warping.  Time too to plant your "winter garden".
----Have fun in the garden, Richard & Sue.

I am proud to announce that 2011 Sumac Circle, is an official Sold for the Cure! listing.

At closing, Remax will make a donation in the Seller's name to the Susan G. Komen foundation.  What a wonderful way to sell a home!

It's a win/win situation for the seller (also works for a buyer.)

A long week Update! Race For The Cure! Sold FOr The Cure!
September 12th, 2008 11:06 AM

Honey, I'm HOME!!

I flew in last night from Houston where I've been this past week for my checkup at MD Anderson. I'M FINE!!  Still in remission.  It's always a relief to hear those words.

I flew out just in time.  The skies in Houston were churning and my flight was delayed because of weather.  Please keep those people along the Gulf Coast in your prayers.

Cancer is still a scary word to hear, and sadly two more people in our office have been diagnosed in the past couple of months.  Both are receiving treatments, but having been there, I know this is a very scary time for them.

On that note, the Oklahoma City Race for the Cure is coming up early in October.  Our office puts together a team for this event and my assistant,  Lisa, will be running again this year.  Anyone wishing to donate to this fine cause can do so go here.

ReMax has a wonderful program Called "Sold for the Cure"

What is Sold for the Cure?

Sold for the Cure is an opportunity for RE/MAX Associates to make contributions to their local Komen for the Cure Affiliate with each closed real estate transaction.

How does it work?

Each participating RE/MAX Associate designates homes as Sold for the Cure properties. Once the homes sell, the Associate makes a contribution on behalf of the buyers or sellers.

I'd love to donate to this cause in your name.  Let me know!
